Verret makes Top 16 at Barcelona World Cup

Alexanne Verret of Dynamo Fencing Club placed 13th this past weekend (February 11th-13th) at the senior women's epee world cup in Barcelona, Spain. After winning all of her poule matches, she advanced straight into the second day of competition with a 10th place seeding. Her first DE was close, with a 15-14 win over Cebula (USA). In the round of 32, Verret defeated Kang (KOR) 13-11 before facing her final opponent in the 16. She fought a hard final bout against Knapik-Miazga (POL), but was beated 10-9 by the Polish fencer.
