Canadian Women and Sport recommends developing an inclusive definition of gender equity that includes those who experience oppression in sport due to their gender including cisgendered girls and women and trans, nonbinary, and gender-di verse people, and that recognizes the difference between equality and equity. More about this matter on the Women and Sport official website.

Strong women behind the scenes of Canadian fencing and the BC Fencing Association.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Camila Ortiz and Natalie Butler on earning their National Armourer Level 1 titles, a huge achievement in one of the most technical and demanding roles in our sport.

With Camila and Natalie earning their certifications in December, there are now only 5 Nationally Certified Armourers in Canada, making this accomplishment even more remarkable.

Seeing more women stepping into and excelling in this field is something truly special.

Congratulations, Camila and Natalie! Your hard work, skill, and passion continue to push the sport forward.

Why are we pursuing this? To have a starting point and ensure the organization has a clear and common understanding that reflects nuance of gender equity. If this matters to you, we invite you to express your interest in being part of this work.
